The Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will remain closed on January 10 (Friday) as the countdown to grand celebrations of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary is set to kick off on that day.
Abdur Rauf, the member secretary of the fair and deputy director of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), on Monday confirmed the information to Jago News.
Earlier, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan urged the authorities concerned to keep the fair closed for a day on January 10.
On January 1, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 25th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) at Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, adjacent to Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), in the capital.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the countdown to Mujib Barsho - celebrating the birth centenary of Father of the Nation - on January 10.
She will inaugurate the event at the old airport in Tejgaon - where the aeroplane carrying Bangabandhu landed on his return to an independent Bangladesh the same day in 1972 from Pakistan.
