The High Court has issued a rule asking the government to why the clinical psychologist and counselor should not be recruited at all educational institutions including school, college, madrasa and university across the country.
The bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the rule on Sunday, after hearing a writ petition on this regard.
The court also asked the concerned people including University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman, secretaries to the education ministry, public administration ministry, health and family planning ministry, primary and mass education ministry and director general of education directorate to respond to the rule within four weeks.
On behalf of the writ petition, Supreme Court lawyer Farhad Uddin Ahmed Bhuiyan was present in the court while deputy attorney general advocate Amit Talukder was present on behalf of the state.
Earlier on November 24 last year, lawyer Farhad Uddin filed the writ at the concerned department of the HC.
