As many as 42,133 examinees under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dinajpur have experienced failure in English and Math subjects in Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination this year.
Some 23,160 failed in English while 19,666 in Math in the results of JSC exam published on Tuesday.
This year JSC and its equivalent Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations witnessed 87.90 percent pass.
Lack of skilled teachers in two subjects-- English and Math-- was main reason behind the failure of a large number students, said concerned.
Regarding this, Dinajpur Board exam controller professor Tofazzur Rahman said, "There are not enough teachers adroit in the subjects (English and Math) that caused the bad result."
