Case filed over attack on VP Nur

A case has been lodged over the attack on Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) vice-president Nurul Haque Nur and other students.

Police filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station on Tuesday, confirmed the police tsation sub-inspector Rois Uddin.

The accused are Muktijoddha Mancha president Aminul Islam Bulbul, general secretary Al Mamun, its DU unit president ASM Sonet, general secretary Yeasir Arafat Turza, AF Rahman Hall unit general secretary Imran Sarker, Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall unit general secretary Yead Al Riad (temporarirly expelled from the hall) Zia Hall unit president Touhidul Islam Mahim and Mahbub Hasan Niloy. 

Unidentified 30 to 35 more people have been accused in the lawsuit. 

Earlier on Sunday, some leaders and activists of Muktijoddha Mancha, a platform comprising descendants of freedom fighters, allegedly attacked VP Nur and his followers, leaving at least 34 injured.

Meanwhile, Al Mamun, general secretary of one portion of Muktijoddha Mancha, and Yeasir Arafat Turza, general secretary of the platform's DU unit, were detained in connection with the attack and later shown arrested in the case.
