Sylhet outplay Khulna to secure first win

After four consecutive defeats, Sylhet Thunder have outplayed favourite Khulna Tigers in the 15th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier Leauge’s special edition - Bangabandhu BPL.   

They beat Khulna by 80 runs to secure their first victory at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in port city Chattogram on Saturday. 

Chasing down gigantic 233-run target set by Thunder, Khulna were 152 all-out in 18.3 overs. 

For the loser, RR Rossouw scored 52 runs off 32 and R Frylinc 44 from 20 balls, and no other player of the team could a big score to earn victory.   

Sylhet's K Santokie bagged highest 3 wickets of Khulna while Monir Hossain and Ebadat Hossain took 2 each. Another wicket came from Naveen-ul-Haq. 

Earlier, ADS Fletcher's unbeaten 103 runs, and J Charles' 90 guided Sylhet Thunder to post 233-run target. 

They scored 233 runs for 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.

This is the second highest run record in the tournament. Earlier, Chattogram Challengers scored the highest 238 runs on Friday.  

Meanwhile, Fletcher became the first player in the ongoing BPL to hit century. He made the ton off 57 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixs.

For Khulna Tigers, R Frylinc bagged 2 wickets for 37 runs, and Shafiul, Shahidul as well as Robiul took 1 each.
