Severe cold gripped people as temperature has dipped across country and the first cold wave of the year sweeped over some regions.
Met office said mild cold wave is sweeping over some the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may spread.
The Met office in its weather forecast on Thursday said the cold wave may continue for three days.
According the Met office, Chuadanga was witnessing the lowest temperature 7.9 degree Celsius. It was recorded 8.8 degree in Pabna's Ishwardi, 9.2 degree in Jashore, 9.5 at Badalgachhi and 9.4 degree in Rajshahi.
Capital Dhaka experinced minimum temperature 13 degree Celsius and maximum 20 degree Celsius.
Weather across the country may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, and moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight till morning.
