The BNP Parliamentary Board on Tuesday nominated Abu Sufian, Convener of Chattogram South BNP, in the by-polls of Chattogram-8.
The party took the decision in a meeting held at their chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the name for the by-election.
Sufian confirmed the matter to Jago News.
This parliamentary seat had fallen vacant after the death of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Moinuddin Khan Badal who died during treatment in a hospital in India on November 7 last.
According to the election schedule, the aspirants should submit their nomination papers to the returning officer for the seat till December 12.
The scrutiny of nominations will end on December 14 while the last date for withdrawing candidature is December 22.
