The protesting students of Stamford University have given a 48-hour ultimatum to the authorities concerned to reveal the findings of probe report on the death of their fellow student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa.

They threatened to go tougher movement if the report is not disclosed within the period.

English department student Mohammad Al Hasan Sumon said they have been protesting for last three days demanding revealing investigation report on Rumpa's death and punishment against those involved with the incident but the report has not been disclosed yet.

He said, "We, Rumpa's family and people of the country want to know how she died, and whether it is the case of suicide or murder. Three days elapsed but mystery over the death has not been debunked yet."

"We will have no option, but go for tougher movement, including boycotting class-exam, if probe report on Rumpa's death is not disclosed within next 48 hours," the student added.

On Wednesday night, police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from Siddheswari road in city's Mogbazar. Following the day, the body was identified as Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa by relatives.

She is the second year student of English department at Stamford University. Her father Rokanuddin is inspector of a police outpost in Habiganj.
