A couple and their daughter lost their lives and five others received injuries in a fatal collision between a covered van and microbus in Tangail on Friday morning.
The accident took place in Golchattar area adjacent to Bangabandhu Bridge East Toll Plaza around 7:30am.
Deceased Haji Abdul Karim Sarker, 60, his wife Matwara Sarker, 50, and their daughter Kaniz Fatema, 30, were residents of Sahed Nagar Beparipara village in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj.
Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station officer in-charge Kazi Ayubur Rahman said a covered van collided head-on with a microbus near toll plaza, leaving three dead on the spot and two injured.
The injured were admitted to Tangail General Hospital, the OC added.
