A teacher of Begum Rokeya University (BRU) is facing allegation of nepotism after her sister secured the first position in a units' entry test for 2019-20 academic session of the university despite being failed in two other.
The admission seeker, Mishkatul Zannat, is the younger sister of English Department lecturer Imrana Bari. The lecrurer participated in all activities of admission test.
It was known that Zannat took part in the admission test of 'A' (Arts Faculty), 'F' (Faculty of Biology and Geosciences) and 'B' (Social Science Faculty) units last month.
Although she could not pass in the entrance exam first two units, ranked the first in the last one getting record score.
On December 2-3, she got admitted to the Department of Sociology under Social Science Faculty.
After her such unsual result, many teachers of the university got suprised.
To know about the allegation, Imrana Bari was phoned several times but she did not receive. And she was sent text message but no response.
Sohela Mushtari, assistant professor of Sociology department and coordinator of unit 'B', expressed her astonishment about the abnormal result.
This correspondent tried to contact with the university Vice-Chancellor professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah but his mobile phone found switched off.
Later, his private secretary Md Aminul Rahman informed that the VC is now staying abroad.
Earlier, the university administration punished a teach of Math department for his involvement of making his younger sister second in a unit's admission test for 2014-15 academic year by adopting unfair means.
