JaPa to hold national council on Dec 28

Jatiya Party (JaPa) has decided to hold its national council on December 28, reports BSS. 

The party finalized the date for the national council at a meeting of its presidium members held at its Chairman’s Banani office today with party chairman and deputy leader of the opposition in parliament Golam Mohammad Quader in the chair, said a press release.

It also decided to participate in the by-election to Chattogram-8 constituency.

The meeting unanimously nominated party presidium member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu as its candidate to contest the by-election.

Chattogram-8 (Chandgaon-Boalkhali) seat fell vacant following the death of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Moinuddin Khan Badal.

The by-election will be held on January 13 next.

Party secretary general Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga, presidium members MA Sattar, Kazi Firoz Rashid, Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Golam Kibria Titu, Fakhrul Imam, Mujibul Haque Chunnu and Advocate Salma Islam were present at the meeting.
