Police have arrested three BNP leaders while going out from Jatiya Press Club after a programme.
They were arrested around 12:30pm, confirmed Shahbagh Police Station officer in-charge Abul Hasan.
The leaders are BNP's training affairs secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, advocate Alam and advocate Touhid.
They were arrested in a case lodged over the incident of vehicles vandalizm and attack on police in front of the Supreme Court (SC), the OC said.
Earlier on Thursday, Dhaka South City Jubo Dal office staff Manju and Krishal Dal central office staff Faruk were arrested in the case.
Later, BNP Vice-chairman Maj (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed was arrested from the high court area of the capital in the case.
On the same day, BNP's joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokan was nabbed by police from the area on the same charges.
Hours after they were held, Hafiz Uddin and two others secured bail from court.
Besides, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and three more leaders of the party have been granted anticipatory bail for eight weeks in the case.
On Tuesday, BNP leaders and activists suddenly took position at the main gate of the Supreme Court (SC) demanding release of Khaleda Zia from jail. The former Prime Minister is now serving in jail for graft charge.
On the same day, police filed a case against unidentified around 500 leaders and activists of BNP over attack on police and vehicle vandalizm. Earlier, Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal President Ishtiaq Ulfat was also arrested in the case.
