Bodies of 3 Bangladeshis died in Libya return home

Some 152 Bangladeshi nationals along with three bodies of ones came back to home from the North African country Libya on Thursday morning. 

A chartered flight carrying them and the bodies landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:30am, expatriate welfare desk confirmed.

The deceased were identifed as Babul Hossain from Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi, Ershad from Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha and Nazrul Islam from Lalpur upazila of Natore.

Among the trio, Babul was killed in a drone attack, Ershad died from electrocution and Nazrul lost his life in a 'shootout'.

Brac Migration Programme said 152 Bangladeshi migrants returned home by a chartered flight from Libya in all-out efforts from Bangladesh Embassy in the country, supervision of Libya and Bangladesh government, and active assistance from International Migration Organization.

On November 18, seven people were killed in a drone attack carried out at a factory near Tripoli.

Labour councilor at Bangladesh mission in the country confirmed there was a Bangladeshi among the seven victims.
