Fire guts 35 shops in Khulna

A devastating fire burned down as many as 35 shops of a market in Khulna city early Tuesday. 

Being informed, eight units of fire fighters brought the blaze under control after half an hour's frantic efforts.

Witnesses said a fire originated at a shop in the market at Ferry Ghat intersection around 6am and engulfed the adjacent shops.

Iqbal Bahar Bulbul, deputy assistant director of Khulna Fire Service and Civil Defense, said confirmed the matter, adding that cause of the fire could not be known yet.
