Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said no controversial person will get any post in fresh committees of Awami League and its associate bodies, reports BSS.
“Those who are controversial, intruders and have links with communal forces will not be taken in any committee of the Awami League,” he told journalists while visiting the venue of the council sessions of AL and its associate bodies at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, where a makeshift stage is being erected.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will give directives for the formation of all committees.
He said there is much possibility of bringing changes in the leaderships of AL associate bodies but the matter of experience will be considered in this regard.
The AL general secretary said dates for holding councils of Dhaka City South and North AL will be announced within one or two days.
The councils will be held before December 15 as the national council of AL is slated for December 20-21, he added.
Quader expressed profound shock at the death of BNP vice-chairman, former mayor of Dhaka City Corporation and valiant freedom fighter Sadeque Hossain Khoka.
The AL general secretary said they would extend cooperation, if BNP leaders and relatives of Khoka wanted to bring his body to Bangladesh.
AL Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, AL leader Mirza Azam, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad, its Joint General Secretary Dilip Roy and Krishak League President Motahar Hossain Molla were present on the occasion.
