Govt determined to stamp out corruption: Law Minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq on Saturday said the government is determined to establish good governance in the country by eliminating corruption from society.

“The country’s economic development is being hampered due to corruption…corruption is also contradictory to the country’s constitution, Liberation War spirit and the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.

The Law Minister was addressing a function arranged at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here to provide stipends among some 2,000 higher secondary poor but meritorious students.  Dutch-Bangla Bank, a private sector bank of the country, is providing the stipends.

“Now, corruption has become the main problem of our society… we need to work together to stamp out this menace from our society,” Anisul Huq insisted.
