Rain washes out first session with Afghanistan 4 wickets away from win

Heavy rain held Afghanistan back from trying to pick up the last four Bangladesh wickets with the first session on the final day in Chattogram seeing no play at all.

The home side is 136 for 6, still 262 away from the target. The main square at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium has been under covers since the fourth evening, when play was abandoned 40 minutes before the scheduled close because of a third downpour on the day.

Some of the Afghanistan players, including captain Rashid Khan, were seen walking around the ground with umbrellas in hand, while the Bangladesh team only started from the team hotel around 11.30am local time.

The ground, however, has a decent drainage system after overhauling work was done four years ago, which should give the visitors some hope of a quick turnaround from the ground staff. The other good news for them is that the rain has stopped.
