Three people died of dengue fever in Khulna, Faridpur and Mymensingh on Monday.
In Khulna, Mizanur Raham, 40, a vegetable trader, son of late Md Akher Ali of Rupsha upazila in the district, died at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Dr Sailendranath Biswas, resident medical officer of the hospital, said Mizanur was admitted to the hospital with dengue fever on August 15 and breathed his last at 7 am today.
Five people have so far died of dengue in the district.
In Faridpur, Delwar Hossen, 35, a mosque khadem (caretaker), son of Sheikh Shafiuddin of sadar upazila died at 10am.
Director of Faridpur Medical College Hospital Kamada Prasad Saha said, Delwar was infected with dengue on August 18 and admitted to the medicine ward of the hospital.
Six people have so far died of dengue in the district.
In Mymensingh, Anwar Hossen, 40, died of dengue at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 1:30am. Doctor Samshuzzaman Selim, Assistant Director of the hospital, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
However, at least 1,706 new patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till Sunday morning across the country, according to Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The government has so far confirmed 40 deaths although unofficial estimates suggest the death toll is much higher.
