Fire breaks out at AIIMS hospital in Delhi

A fire broke out at the P.C. Block (second floor) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Delhi on August 17 evening.

After a call was received by the Delhi Fire Service around 4.50 p.m., 34 fire tenders have been rushed to the sport. No casualties have been reported so far.

Meanwhile, Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) since August 9, who has been put on life support on Saturday, officials confirmed.

Mr. Jaitley has been put on ECMO (Extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation), also known as extra-corporeal life support. This is an extra-corporeal technique of providing prolonged cardiac and respiratory support to persons whose heart and lungs are unable to provide an adequate amount of gas exchange or perfusion to sustain life.
