Two ‘robbers’ lynched in Pabna

Two suspected robbers were killed in a lynch-mob attack at Sondaha Kanelpara village in  Santhia upazila here early Saturday, reports UNB. 

The deceased were identified as Shaheen alias Holka Shaheen, 45 of Jorgachha village and Machhir alias Kalu, 35, of Daramuda village in the upazila.

Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station, said when a gang of four robbers were attempting to commit robbery in the village at 12:30 am local people caught two of them and gave them a good beating, leaving them seriously injured.

Two other gang members managed to escape, he said.

On information, police rescued the injured robbers and admitted them to Upazila Health Complex first and then shifted to Pabna General Hospital where doctors declared them dead.

The OC said they were members of an outlawed group and there are several robbery and explosive cases against them with different police stations.
