Meteorologist’s pregnant wife dies of dengue

The wife of a meteorologist died of dengue fever while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka early Monday. 

Sharmin Akter, 25, wife of Nazmul Hossain, a meteorologist at Dhaka Met office, breathed his last at 4:30am. She was pregnant of six months. 

She was diagnosed with dengue at Joypurhat Zilla Adhunik Hospital on Friday where the doctors suggested her to go to Dhaka for better treatment.   

Later she admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital on Saturday night and died early Monday. 

Her sister’s husband Anisur Rahman said Sharmin’s husband is now in abroad. He went to Joypurhat to meet her wife on Wednesday before leaving the country.
