Four members of a family sustained burn injuries when an air-conditioner exploded in a house at Kathalbagan area in the capital’s Kolabagan early Monday.
The injured are Moniruzzaman Liton, 38, his wife Tumpa Akter, 30, daughters Laiba and an eight month old Liban. They were admitted to Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Liton sustained 50 percent burn injuries while Tumpa 25 percent, Laiba 17 percent and Liban 7 percent, said Assistant In-charge of DMCH police outpost Abdul Khan.
Raihanul Ashraf, Senior Station Officer of Mohammadpur Fire Service, said the injured were taken to DMCH. It is suspected that they were burnt after an air-conditioner explosion.
