Eid-ul-Azha on 11 August in Middle East including Saudi

The moon of Arabic holy month Jilhajj, 1440 Hijri was sighted later on Thursday resulting Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest festival in Islam to be held on 11 August in the Middle East including Saudi Arabia.

The holy Hajj, the fifth mandatory religious duty of Islam will be held on 10 August as the moon sighted, declared Saudi Supreme Court later the day.

Meanwhile, National Moon Sighting Committee meeting will be held today to fix the date of holy Eid-ul-Azha and review reports of moon sighting of holy month of Jilhajj in Bangladesh.

The meeting will be held at the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office at 7:15 pm with state minister of religious affairs and moon sighting committee chairman Sheikh Md Abdullah in the chair, said a press release.
