State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on Wednesday urged the imams of mosques across the country to make people aware of rumour through their sermons before Jum’a prayers, reports UNB.
He also called upon the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque to play a due role in this regard.
The state minister made the call while talking to reporters during his visit to Ashkona Hajj Camp in the capital.
Abdullah also called upon alem-ulema (Islamic scholars) to stand by flood and dengue-affected people.
He also urged them to encourage people to serve the disaster-hit people and extend their hands of cooperation towards them.
