Indigenously pasteurized milks including PRAN and Milk Vita not hazardous: BARC

There were no heavy metals, antibiotics or sulfa drugs found in the pasteurized milks which are produced here including by PRAN and Milk Vita that put health in risk, said Nutrition Department of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Council (BARC) on Wednesday.

BARC briefed at a press conference at Bangladesh Secretariat held to disclose results of an analysis over an allegation to have the harmful components in pasteurized milks.

An analysis was presented by Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam, Director of BARC’s Nutrition Department at the conferenced headed by Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzak.

Monirul Islam said, some 16 samples of liquid pasteurized milks were sent to a laboratory in Chennai of India to test after a controversy raised over allegedly having existence of antibiotics.
