Advance bus ticket sales begin

The private bus operators have started to sale the advance tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha from Dhaka counters on Friday morning.

The home-goers from northern and north-western part of our country rushed to collect advance tickets at Gabtali and Kalyanpur counters from the dawn.

Assuming Eid-ul-Azha on 11 or 12 August, advance tickets were selling for the Dinajpur, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal and adhering divisions bound passengers, a source of the Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association said to Jago News.

Advance bus tickets are also available on the online sites.

Romesh Chandra Ghosh, chairman of the association told the correspondent, a meeting to sell the advance tickets for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha held and the operators reached the decision.

The operators were selling the advance tickets on fair prices which are fixed by government as well as the previous years. To stop selling tickets on exceeding prices, it’s told to hang price-lists in front of the counters according to the destination. If someone will make any complaint over selling tickets on exceeding prices, the association will act against the accused courters, he added.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Railway will start selling advance train tickets for Eid-ul-Azha holidays from July 29.

Sale of advance tickets for intercity trains will continue till August 2.

Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan announced at a press conference at the Rail Bhaban in Dhaka on 23 July.
