The fourth namaz-e-janaza of Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad was held at the Collectorate Eidgah Ground in Rangpur at 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
Thousands of people including party leaders and activists attended the janaza.
He will be buried in Rangpur as his wife Rowshan Ershad gave permission to bury him there, Japa chairman’s Deputy Press Secretary Khandakar Delwar Jalali confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Earlier in the day, his body was flown to Rangpur by a helicopter from Dhaka
Ershad, a former military strongman, died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). He was 89.
