A young man, accused of killing Rifat Sharif in broad daylight, was arrested in Barguna early Wednesday, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Rifat Farazi, son of Dulal Farazi of Dhansiri area of the municipality. He is the number two accused in the case filed over Rifat’s murder.
A police team arrested him around 2:30am acting on a tip-off, Shafiqul Islam, deputy inspector general of police of Barishal division, told the media.
Ten people, including six persons named in the case, have been arrested so far.
The main accused, Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayon Bond, was killed in a reported gunfight with police in the Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of his wife Ayesha Siddika Minni in broad daylight in the district town on June 26. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.
Two accused - Mohammad Oli and Tanvir Hossain - reportedly confessed to their crimes before a court.
