An official of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) was served a show cause notice over issuance a letter to two journalists summoning them for their reports on Wednesday noon.
The notice was served to Sheikh Md Fanafillyah, said ACC’s Public Relations Official Pranab Kumar Battyacharjya.
The ACC served the notice to one of its official after the journalists demonstrated and protested in front of the ACC’s headquarters terming the letter indecent.
In a letter signed by ACC Director Sheikh Md Fanafillah, Banglatribune’s Special Correspondent Dipu Sarwar was asked to appear before it for testimonial on the alleged bribing of its Director Khandaker Enamul Basir by suspended DIG of police Mizanur Rahman.
The letter also threatened of legal consequences against the journalist on noncompliance.
The online news portal on Sunday published a report on the bribery allegation. Earlier, private television channel ATN News aired a report in which the DIG made allegation of giving Tk 40 lakh to Basir who “promised” him that he would exonerate him of all charges.
