President M Abdul Hamid returned home on Wednesday night wrapping up his seven-day official visit to two central Asian countries - Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, reports BSS.
A VVIP special aircraft (flight no BG 1519) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited carrying the President and his entourage members landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11.22pm.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Dean of Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Vatican to Bangladesh Archbishop George Kocherry, Foreign Secretary, secretary of Prime Minister’s Office, chiefs of the three services, Inspector General of Police and high civil and military officials received the President at the airport.
Earlier, the VVIP aircraft carrying the President and his entourage members took off Tashkent International Airport, Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent at about 3.15 pm (local time).
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Bangladesh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mosud Mannan, and high civil and military officials concerned of two countries were present at the airport to see the President off.
President’s spouse Rashida Khanam, foreign minister Dr AK Abul Momen, Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq, MP, and secretaries concerned accompanied the President in the tour.
President Hamid left Dhaka on June 13 to attend the filth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) at Tajik capital Dushanbe and another programme in Uzbekistan.
