The hajj flights carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj this year will begin on July 4.
Shahadat Hossain Taslim, Secretary General of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (Haab), said this during a press conference at a hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.
The return flights are scheduled to begin from August 17.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate as many as 157 dedicated Hajj flights and another 32 scheduled flights till August 5.
As many as 127,198 pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj this year with Biman carrying 63,599 of them.
In addition to 126 flights on the Dhaka-Jeddah route, Biman will operate 10 flights on the Dhaka-Medina route, 10 flights on the Chittagong-Jeddah, seven flights on the Chittagong-Medina, and three flights on the Sylhet-Jeddah route.
