PM greets successful SSC, equivalent examinees

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London on an official visit, today greeted the students who succeeded in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year along with their guardians and teachers, reports BSS.

She also requested the students, who failed in the examinations, to take further preparation with patience and hard work as they could pass the next exams with good results, saying, “There is nothing impossible for people.”

The premier hoped that the students would have to prepare themselves with utlilising their brilliance and intelligence to be worthy citizens and apable to run the country, a press release of the Prime Minister Office (PMO) quoted her as saying.

She, however, expressed her sorrow to examinees, as she was not be able to present for announcing the SSC and equivalent results and sharing the joy with them like previous years as she is now staying in London on an official visit, the release said.

The results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations-2019 under 10 education boards were published today with 82.20 percent pass rate.

Mentioning that a record number of 21,27,815 examinees took part in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year, the premier called upon the students, who secured good results, to do even more better in the future to keep its continuation.

In this context, she said, “You should realise that you are the future of tomorrow. You should engage yourself in the service of the people of the country and elsewhere across the globe. And for this reason, you should be brought up with patriotism and human quality alongside acquiring the knowledge of science and technology.”

The premier said that her government has been relentlessly working to materialise the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build a “Sonar Bangladesh” free from poverty and hunger.

She further said the government is working to make the future generation capable to cope with the challenges of the 21st century with limited resources.
