The 52nd convocation of Dhaka University (DU) will be held on December 9 this year on its campus where Nobel laureate Japanese physicist Prof Takaaki Kajita will deliver speech as the convocation speaker.
The decision was taken on Tuesday at the syndicate meeting, the apex body of the university that exercises administrative and supervisory control over the academic and administrative activities, reports BSS.
“Takaaki Kajita has consented to come Bangladesh to attend the convocation,” Syndicate member and DU Teachers’ Association President Professor Maksud Kamal confirmed BSS today.
Takaaki Kajita was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics jointly with Canadian physicist Arthur B.
McDonald in 2015 for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass.
