The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) today suspended water transport services on all routes across the country due to the very sever cyclonic storm Fani that is likely to hit the coastal areas of Bangladesh by tomorrow, reports BSS.
“The BIWTA has suspended the plying of all sorts of vessels and asked all to remain in safe shelter until further notice,” said BIWTA Public Relations Officer Mobarak Hossain Mazumder.
The BIWTA also suspended leaves of its all officials and employees to tackle the imminent natural disaster, he said.
