Awami League acting general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said the activities of BNP prove that the split of the party is now a matter of time.
“The activities of BNP leaders prove that they are clearly separated. The breakage of the party is a matter of time,” he said while addressing a rally, organised by Jatiya Sramik League, at Awami League Bangabandhu Avenue office in Dhaka, marking the historic May Day, reports BSS.
Speaking as the chief guest, Hanif said four elected MPs of BNP joined the parliament but its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who was elected from Bogura-6 seat, did not join the House, which reveals that breakage of BNP is for sure.
“Mirza Fakhrul claims that his decision, not to join the parliament, is a political tactic. But, I would say it is an ill-tactic,” the AL spokesman said, adding that applying such ill-tactic, the BNP secretary general could not avoid the split of the party.
Senior AL leaders spoke at the rally with Jatiya Sramik League president Shukkur Mahmud in the chair.
