Bangladesh Police Headquarters has directed top police officials to remain alert across the country.
The new direction came on Sunday after eight serial blasts in Sri Lanka that claimed almost 200 lives.
Earlier, the top police officials were directed to beef up security ahead of Easter Sunday and Shab-e-Barat.
In this connection, Md Sohel Rana, Assistant Inspector General of Police, said the field commanders were directed to remain alert across the country.
He said they are fully prepared to control any untoward situation, but there are no security threat.
A series of coordinated bombings ripped across Sri Lanka on Sunday morning, striking hotels and churches, killing almost 200 people and shattering the relative calm that the war-torn nation had enjoyed in recent years, according to the New York Times.
