President, PM condemn blasts in Sri Lanka

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today strongly condemned the series of blasts in three churches and three hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday today which left multiple people dead and scores other injured, reports BSS. 

In a condolence message this noon, President Hamid said, “We are deeply shocked to learn the blast incidents in Sri Lanka. We strongly condemn this henious act of terrorism.”

The head of the state conveyed profound sympathy to the people of Sri Lanka and its government.

In a message of condolence, the premier, who is now on a three-day official visit in Brunei Darussalam, also offered deep condolences at the casualties of a number of people in the blasts.

She prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of the injured people.

At least 156 people have been killed, including 35 foreigners, and hundreds injured after explosions in three churches and three hotels in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, according to police sources, reports NDTV.
