The parents of Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahahn Rafi, who was burned to death after protesting sexual harassment, have met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Nusrat’s father AKM Musa, mother Shirin Akter and her two brothers met the premier at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Tejgaon on Monday morning.
The chairman of NRB Global Bank chairman Nizam Chowdhury was present during this time.
The premier expressed her deep sympathy and told them that the culprits will not be spared.
She assured them of all necessary support.
On 6 April, Nusrat was set on fire at an examination centre allegedly by people loyal to the principal of her madrasa after he was arrested and subsequently suspended as she had accused him of sexually harassing her.
Nusrat lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after the incident at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Twelve people have so far been arrested in connection with the arson attack.
