Four of a family sustained burn injuries as miscreants set fire to a house at a village of Raipura upazila in Narsingdi over pre-enmity following a land dispute early Tuesday.
The victims are three sisters - Preety Akter, 11, student of class six, Muktamoni, SSC examinee, 16, Sweety Akter, student of class eight and their aunt Khatunnesa, 60.
They were admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Ratna, elder sister of burned three, said they have a long dispute with neighbors Shipon and Kajol over a land. She accused them for the incident.
Enayet Kabir, Medical Officer of DMCH burn unit, said Khatunnesa suffered 12 percent burn injury, Preety 15 percent, Muktamoni 10 percent and Sweety 15 percent.
In this connection, Mohsinul Kadir, officer-in-charge of Raipura Police Station, said two murder incidents were happened in the area some years ago. Two brothers of burned three sisters were sued in the murder and they are on run. Somebody might be set fire to the house following the previous incident.
