An alleged robber was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between his associates and police in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia early Tuesday.The dead man is Ashadul Fakir, 36. He was accused in several cases, including seven for murders, filed with Mirpur Police Station.Kamruzzaman, Assistant Superintendent of Kushtia police, said, ‘A team of police noticed some 10-15 robbers when they were preparing for a robbery on Kushtia-Meherpur’.‘Sensing the presence of the law enforces, the robbers opened fire at the police, he added.In replied, police fired back that left Asadul injured. Two policemen were also injured in the incident.Later, the duty doctor declared Asadul dead when taken to Upazila Health Complex.
