HC issues rule over using ‘indecent’ words in Coca-Cola adds

The High Court today issued a rule asking authorities concerned to explain as to why action shall not be taken against Coca-Cola for using ‘indecent’ words in its advertisement, reports BSS.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order after holding hearing on a writ filed in this regard.

The court asked law secretary, information secretary, cultural affairs secretary, education secretary, director general of Bangla Academy, inspector general of police and International Beverages Private Limited to comply with the order within four weeks.

The writ was filed with the High Court on February 27, against using of words like, Pera, Fapor, Matha Nosto, Guti, Jotil, Babu, on the label of Coca-Cola bottles.
