The Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said the National University is now like a speedy train.
“It was said about the National University that it is like a freight train. But now it is said that it is like a speedy train,” the Education Minister said on Saturday while addressing at the award and certificate giving ceremony programme of ‘College Performance Ranking 2016 and 2017’ held at International Mother Language Institute Auditorium in the capital.
The minister also hoped that the progress of the university will continue.
The National University is the second largest university in the world. The number of the students of the university is 28 lakh, Dipu Moni said.
She said we knew many negative information about this university before. But now the university returns into the positive phase under the leadership of its vice chancellor.
He also urged the authorities concerned to compose basic books for the students.
The vice chancellor of the university Professor Harun-or-Rashid said the main challenge of the university was to reduce session jam and it has been removed through the crush programme.
“Now the university is formulating academic calendar in which the dates of admission, examination and result are being published in advance,” the VC said.
