Two more victims of the Chawkbazar fire died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) as the death toll rose to 69.
Anwar Hossain, 55, a rickshaw-puller and son of Ali Hossain of Rajbari died around 10:15 pm on Monday. Later, one Sohag died at 2:30 am on Tuesday, said Samantalal Sen, coordinator of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of DMCH.
Earlier, 67 people were killed and around 41 others injured in the devastating fire that broke out at a chemical warehouse and raged through four other adjacent buildings in the city’s Chawkbazar area on February 20.
Firefighters recovered the 67 bodies from the spot after the fire was doused around 6am on February 21.
