A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking compensation of Tk 30 lakh for each of the victims of Chawkbazar fire that killed 67.

Supreme Court lawyer Advocate Eunus Ali Akond on Sunday filed the petition for the public interest litigation.

The writ sought a direction to form a judicial committee to investigate the fire incident.

The petition will be heard at the bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader, said the writ petitioner.

Secretaries to Finance Ministry, Home Ministry, Industry Ministry and Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor and Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) were made the respondents in the petition.
