The time for Biswa Ijtema has been extended by another day as rain disrupted the congregation on Sunday on the bank of the river Turag at Tongi here, reports BSS.
“The decision has been taken after consultation with the religious affairs minister, home minister and senior leaders of Tablig Jamaat,” State Minister for Youth and Sports Jahid Ahsan Rasel told the news agency.
The time has been extended considering that the Islamic scholars gathered from home and abroad can deliver their sermons properly, he said.
Now the Ijtema will end through Akheri Munajat at 10 am on Tuesday, Gazipur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir said.
The Ijtema is being held in a single phase from February 15 this year.
