Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque instructed construction of three medical universities at Chittagong, Sylhet and Rajshahi.
“Start the construction work of the three medical universities within the shortest possible time after getting necessary DPP (Development Project Proforma) approval,” Maleque told the authorities concerned of the three universities, reports BSS.
He was presiding over a view exchange meeting with the Vice Chancellors (VC) of four medical universities at his ministry’s conference room at the central Secretariat in the city, said a press release.
State Minister Dr Murad Hasan, Secretary (Medical Education and Family Welfare Division) GM Saleh Uddin, VC of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua, Chittagong Medical University VC Professor Dr Ismail Khan, Rajshahi Medical University VC Professor Dr Masum Habib and VC of Rajshahi Medical University Prof Dr Morshed Alam, among others, attended the meeting.
Maleque also emphasized research work at the universities and he urged the VCs to monitor it, properly.
