New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the first One Day International (ODI) in Napier.

Bangladesh made a good recovery after a bad start of the first ODI. From 42 for 4, the visitors were all out for 232 as they chase a maiden victory over the Black Caps on New Zealand soil on Wednesday.

Mohammad Mithun made his 3rd ODI half-century to help his side after the departure of the top four. He also put up 84-run stand with Saifuddin that made the difference of a 180.

Chasing the Bangladesh target, Martin Guptill hit a century as they scored 233 runs from 44.3 over.

The tourists have never beaten the hosts in any format during four previous tours to New Zealand. Bangladesh’s task had been made tougher by the injury-enforced absences of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and paceman Taskin Ahmed.
