Five more JS bodies formed

The 11th parliament today constituted five more parliamentary standing committees with the approval of Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The committees are: the public assurance, the cultural affairs, the science and technology, the post, telecommunications and information technology, and the religious affairs, reports BSS.

Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury placed separate proposals over formation of the committees in the House.

The parliament passed the proposals by voice vote when Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, who was chairing the House at that time, moved the proposals for endorsement.

Prof Ali Ashraf was made the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Assurance while Alhaj Dabirul Islam, Mujibul Haque, Mainuddin Khan Badal, Abdul Mannan and Fakhrul Imam as members.

Headed by Begum Simin Hossain Rimi, the JS Committee on Cultural Affairs Ministry was formed. The other members of the committee are: the minister or state minister-in-charge, Momtaz Begum, Asaduzzaman Noor, Kazi Keramot Ali, Begum Sagupta Yasmin and Osim Kumar Ukil.

AFM Ruhal Haque was made chairman of the JS Standing Committee on Science and Technology Ministry while the other members are: Iqbalur Rahman, Habib e- Millat, Shafiqul Azam Khan, Nizam Uddin Hazari, Mojaffar Hossain and Akhteruzzaman.

The JS Standing Committee on Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology Ministry was constituted with AKM Rahmatullah as chairman and other committee members are: acting minister or state minister, Redwan Ahmed Towfiq, Fahmi Golandaj Babel, Ahmed Kabri and Nurul Amin.

Hafez Nurul Amin Madani is head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Religious Affairs while the other committee members are: Syed Nozibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Shawkat Hasanur Tahman Rimon, Monoranjansheel Gopal, Mahmud-Us-Samad Chowdhury, Illias Uddin Molla and HM Ibrahim.

With these five committees, a total 42 JS standing committees were formed in seven working days.
