EC declares all 49 candidates valid for reserved seats

The Election Commission (EC) has declared valid all 49 candidates for the polls to the reserved seats for women in the 11th  national parliament.   

Returning Officer Abul Kashem announced this after scrutiny of the nomination forms on Tuesday morning.

Earlier on Monday, Awami League submitted 43 nomination forms to the EC while Jatiya Party 4, Workers Party 1 and an independent candidate 1.

The date of withdrawal nomination is February 16. The elections to the reserved seats for women will be held on March 4 at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital.
