Suhrawardy’s son Rashid found dead in London residence

Rashid Suhrawardy, the only son of the legendary political leader and former Prime Minister of erstwhile Pakistan Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, was found dead at his London residence on Thursday.  

According to the police information, the cause of his death has not yet been known officially as he was found dead at his residence, Press Minister Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury of Bangladesh High Commission (London) informed in a release today.

The Bangladesh High Commission conveyed deep condolence to the bereaved family members and friends of late Rashid Suhrawardy, the release added.

His next of kin, family members and friends have been informed about his death.

The High Commission will be updating all concerned about his burial arrangement, the release added. The mortal remains of late Rashid Suhrawardy are currently in a mortuary under custody of local authority.

Late Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, the father of the deceased, was a Bengali politician and a lawyer who served as the fifth Prime Minister of Pakistan, appointed in this capacity from Awami League on September 12 in 1956 until resigning on October 17 in 1957.
